2.    Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow is a great option for a privacy fence in a home. This tree is known for its drooping branches and narrow leaves. Its average growth rate is around 10 feet per year and grows well in moist soils.  

3.    Legacy Sugar Maple 

Legacy Sugar Maple is a densely-branched deciduous tree with shiny, green leaves in the summer, which transform into bright red in fall. This tree grows at a rate of 12 inches to 24 inches per year and grows well in zones 4 to 8.       

4.    River Birch

This is a hardy plant that performs well in zones 4 to 10 and moist soils. It grows at a rate ranging from 13 inches to 24 inches per year.   

5.    Dawn Redwood 

This is one of the most popular fast growing privacy trees grown in the Northern Hemisphere due to its conical shape, feathery foliage, and fast growth rate. It grows at an average rate of 24 inches per year.

6.    Emerald Green Thuja

The Emerald Green Thuja provides reliable screening with its dense foliage. It grows up to 1 foot per year and performs well in US zones 3 to 8.  

7.    Wax Myrtle 

Wax Myrtle produces dense foliage making it an ideal option if privacy is your primary objective. The hardy plant grows at a rate of 3 to 5 feet per year. It grows well in zones 7 to 10. 

8.    Eastern Red Cedar 

The Eastern Red Cedar is a good option for privacy as it produces dense foliage. The average growth rate for this tree species is 2 feet per year, and its branches can spread up to 15 feet. It grows best in zones 2 to 9.

9.    Lawson Cypress 

This is one of the most popular fast growing trees for privacy. The evergreen shrub can reach heights of 1.5 m in 5 years. You can recognize Lawson Cypress by its bluish foliage, dense hedge, and scale-like leaves. This tree species grows best in zones 5 to 7, and slightly acidic soils.
